Either is kit beer. It's the same idea. Kit beers seem popular, I am sure if you wanted you could modify with hop tea or a short steep with speciality grains.

If the quality was good I would have no problem jumping on board. It would be an easy way to get your stock level back up. I enjoy the process of all grain. I was caught short at the start of lockdown. If these had of been available I would of jumped on them. Maybe 5 at once

You can get grain to glass in a week.

Surprised it hasn't taken of here then. How long do they keep. Is it local breweries that sell them through the home brew shops.

Some are local breweries others home brew shops, even home brewers selling to other home brewers. One brew shop bought a 1000 litre Braumeister because they couldn't keep up with the demand from their 200 litre Braumeister. The quality of these kits are better than a lot of home brewers are able to turn out.

I don't keg the quickest I have turned a beer is two weeks. Hefeweizen. Great beer

There would have to be a market for these kits in the UK, I didn't realise how many producers of these kits there are, have edited my last post and put up 3 suppliers, there will be more.

A brewpub not too far from me used to do brewing demos at various events (prep pandemic) and gave the wort produced to local home brewers. At the next event they'd have a bit of a competition for the home brewers.

Also, I would like to know that the FWK has been made to a standard that the brewery is prepared to sell on tap but instead sold to me. Not saying MM wouldn't do that but there's a certain appeal.

Selling wort has to be a tricky game as you will have to have the guaranteed sale rate if you produce at a certain volume because it will have a finite life. Plus shipping must be a nightmare.

I get why the MM gave up on selling them at a HB level. But i think the idea on letting people take the wort home post boil to ferment at home.

Unfortunately in this country there aren't many local homebrew stores. You could always go direct to a local brewery

Found a video of Grain and Grape in Melbourne, they upgraded from 200 litre BM to 500 litre BM not a 1,000 litre.
They manage to ship theirs easy enough, not sure if they go all around Australia, but just on numbers, Victoria is approximately the same size of England and only 4,000,000 people. The population of England is 56,000.000 got to be some money to be made there. Doesn't have to be sold in a home brew store, but anyone selling them would have to pick up sales of fermenters and sanitisers. Do you have Big W in the UK its a Woolworths store but sells everything.
