Re-using bottle caps

I know its a bit of a cheapish question, but can I re-use the bottle caps from the original beer bottles? I know the obvious answer is no, but its not like I am hard up. I just bought a load of 500, because last time I went to the shop before, they were sold out.

I probably know more about metal more than beer making, and would not consider using beer a beer cap more than twice, because metal becomes brittle on bending. Its just there is only one shop that sells beer making stuff within travelling distance.

Also I have an expencive device for attaching the caps.

Is it worth taking the chance and resusing the caps ounce?

I think you answered your own question there Anyway they're cheap as chips so why take any chances

in desperate times when i've not had chance to order more i keep my caps and re-use them... but only once.. i stick a marker pen dot on the ones that are being used a second time to make sure i dont use them again
