Just made mine done a raspberry and a strawberry, found it local in polish shop cheaper than asda. Felt like I was going to get stabbed at first walk in but could not be more helpful.

Yess just stuck on froth! Don't worry but will need a bottle brush to scrub after u bottled ur brew!!

This babies been going for two weeks now and it's still bubbling. how long have you guys normally waited till it's done?

Depends on temperature but if fermentation has almost finished
Get it racked into a new dj and u will see once the yeasties in the bottom have been removed it stops pretty sharpish!

Mines been going now since last Thursday, very lively so will rack it to another soon. Looks promising so far...

Bottled mine yesterday, clearing already, what's best time now to leave before sampling?

As soon as it's fizzy!! Brews like this don't need to be aged
It depends on how much sugar and how warm ur bottles are to how long till it's fizzy but mine are normally 5-7 days if that but saw on another post of mine someone saying its more like +10 for them,

Would u post how many days it took u so others will have an idea :)

Mine finally stopped bubbling so i racked it to a clean dj before bottling and had a sneaky taste, it's gorgeous no need for more sugar or syrup it's perfect as it is just needs to clear a little. Funny thing is it's already fizzy without priming not mad fizzy but enough to enjoy it. any one else had this happen?

so do I not need to degas I was unclear at this part I thought that I has to do this for the clearing process

did you make this with just water or with wgj and apple juice
and is it clearly raspberry wine or a wine with hints of raspberry
thanks

just set 2 of these off, the raspberry and lime tree flower ones.

first with 400g of sugar to the op.

second with 300g of sugar and a tin of strawberries in syrup.

Mine end up around 15%, followed your recipe 3 times it always is above 15% mine takes 2-3 weeks to finish fermenting. Even with nutrients girlfriend just being sick from drinking 2 pints of it. It's absolutely lethal.

Would need have needed to use 1.3kg sugar to get to 15%
Not the 400g in the original recipe.

Sorry to hear about the gf
But glad u like it enough to try it three times :drink:

My mum tried a drop of this today and "wants to try it when it's fizzy" so I'm going to split the brew and prime half with sugar, am I right in thinking 2 tsp per 2 ltrs? Also will I need to add sorbate first to finish of the yeasties? Cheers guys.

I'm going to take readings now after last night, girlfriend was wrecked, she usually holds her own on the ales and Guinness. I'm guessing there's around 4% worth of sugar in the syrup so my brew should of been 9%. I really have no idea why mine is more in abv.

Racked mine today and took a reading, it's made 12.2% after a nice slow ferment (I stopped it at 1010). I added a bit more sugar than the original recipe, 2kg to 2 bottles of syrup and 8 litres of water. Should make a nice drink, I can always add a bit of lemonade for fizzy spritzer. Thanks for the recipe. :thumb:

Started off the recipe on page 1 on Friday, it's bubbling along nicely and smells fantastic. The rhubarb next to it started at the same time and it's climbing out of the dj

Hoping for something around 8% and medium sweet. Does this retain it's sweetness well without needing to back sweeten?
