Yes, unfortunately it seems to be very popular nowadays despite the host of problems it can throw up. I have to support one customer who has legacy software written in Java and it's a right PITA. With the advent of Win7 and now Win8, I am slowly replacing their set of applications with C based ones because the cost of maintaining compatibility by reworking their Java code is not feasible :roll:

Despite my dislike of Java, Eclipse is mostly written in Java and is pretty good - certainly it works better on Linux.
