I lost my little girl (cat) the day before I joined this forum.

We still have a cat i call it the wife's cat as it has never taken any notice of me whatsoever and as you cannot take it for a walk i have little to do with it.

I have always been a dog person i don't dislike cats but when this one goes i don't think we will replace it (unless i am told we are)

It's the nice people that really care about them and miss them that give them the best homes though. Such a shame if you can't.

I have another cat and a dog too, but the cat really was my best friend, more than the dog. She was always there by my side, no matter what I was doing.

It has the life of riley here its pampered by SWMBO but for some reason it never took to me it was a farm cat that was rescued along with lots of others maybe it had been treat badly by a bloke on the farm so it was wary of males.

I feel you pain, I lose my first dog about 18 months ago and said never again but I got a pup 4 weeks ago, just think of the good life you gave you dog.

I am so sorry to hear your news. My dog is so important to me as yours must have been to you. I expect there is massive hole in your life right now. My sincere condolences to you.
Please don't dismiss the idea of another dog, I understand that there can never be another dog the same, but there are so many rescued dogs waiting for a home out there that need a home that you could provide one day, when you are ready.
My own dog, Rio is a rescue and is a wonderful lad, he had a terrible life before his rescue but now he enjoys the best of everything. In return he enriches my life so much.
Once again I am so sorry for your loss.

I have to credit my daughter who was very emotional but had the streanth to hold her while she went to sleep
