Quick Disconnects vs Camlocks

As the title suggests, which should I go for?

At the moment I have hose barbs on everything but I am looking to get a pump and swap my connections. Who has what and how do you rate them?

I'm for camlocks they're just about bomb proof. I've known quick connects to fail on occasions.

Cheers, which type do you have? I was thinking 'A' or 'F' on equipment (depending on whether I need a male or female) and 'C' on hoses?

I can't remember what type they are. I'm overseas at the moment so can't check. I got them from The Malt Miller.

Just getting my sixpen'orth; I use quick disconnects and think that they are the canine cojones. They do the job well and have never failed. The hundreds of homebrewers who use them can't all be chumps.

I've not used them for brewing, I was just going on my experience in the offshore diving industry. I apologise if it looked like I was implying that people who used them were chumps, no offence intended.:thumb:

Thanks for such a gracious reply. I took no offence in your endorsement of camlocks.
I wasn't meaning to imply that you thought that people who use QDs were chumps - simply that their use by many homebrewers must count in their favour.
I think camlocks are fantastic, but I think QDs look "neater", and I think that there may be a price advantage over camlocks.

I use quick disconnects. I'm new to all this, and have only used QD's and I rate them. Never failed me, strong and sturdy and no faffing.

Very friendly in here, that's what I like to see.

I think I might go for Quick Disconnects on second thoughts. They seem simpler and more elegant solution.
