Wondering if any one has heard of this idea or have even been along to one.

Looks like it's only been going for a few weeks but I believe the idea is that you turn up at a set time at your local Wetherspoons, identify yourself to others who have done the same by wearing something purple and then hopefully after a few like-minded people have turned up set off for a bit of a pub crawl in your area.

I quite like the idea as I'm fairly new to my town and don't really know anyone to go our for a drink with. On the otherhand I couldn't think of anything worse than meeting up with a bunch of idiots that only want to go to loud "bars" and drink lagers. Of course as it's new there may not be anyone else turn up at all.

We have a "beer festival" round here..you pay for a pre laid on bus which travels around the area visiting different pubs all of which advertise on a web site what beers they will have on the day. The bus runs continually from around dinner time til late and you can get on and off as much as you like.
I've not managed to catch it right yet as I've always been working but I will one day..

Renember going to visit a pal who had been sent to work in Guernsey for 6 months and they had a set up like that - every Saturday night a 'party bus' would ferry you on a pub crawl round the island. Raucous.

I am a generation on and still aint got it right.!!!!
