This has been an interesting read @peebee as I've found a similar issue for my last 2 brews in Stockport. One this weekend and the other last month (just before the hosepipe ban was supposed to come in). It hadn't occured to me that the recent drought and of course lots of rain could be the cause of it.
I'll try and contact a couple of local breweries and see if they have had any recent detailed reports I could compare.
