Self service taps have been introduced in a relatively new beer drinking venue in Australia.

It sounds cool and would be a nice novelty the first few times but just seems a bit gimmicky and impractical in an alcohol drinking establishment. It's not self serve Pepsi where all you can get is some rotted teeth and a sugar high! I think it could get messy... but it seems to work there.

These have been around for years. I remember watching the brisitsh Lions in a bar in Dublin that had self service taps.

Few in Manchester do it too. Saves having to go to the bar. Call me lazy.

I remember a nightclub in Glasgow had a vending machine with cans of beer etc in it. Was an absolute godsend; saved waiting ages at the bar with the barmen ignoring the blokes that are waiting so they can serve all the good looking lassies!

I was at Worcester vs. Exeter rugby a couple of years ago and they eased the bar queues by having Draught Guinness vending machines. Came out in a plastic pint glass and tasted pretty good.

I'm clearly well out of touch with such technology! I've seen some taps on tables and that's about it... I'll keep my eyes peeled.
