Hello,

Just about to cold crash my beer for a couple of days before bottling.

Removed the lid to have a peak, and this is what I saw:

It's a biab sash. Red X malt with cascade. I also used some carapils for head retention. US-05 Yeast, brewed to about 8 litres . For the first time I tried 1/4 of a britewort tablet (which is the same as protafloc, I think).

So, is their an issue? I haven't brewed a batch that had so much stuff floating on top before. Obviously, I can see a fair amount of hops that failed to hold back when pouring into the fermentor, but not sure about the other stuff...

Would be great for some advice.

Thanks.

Looks like yeast rafts to me. They are one of the reasons you are cold crashing and will drop out of suspension.

Ah thanks for that guys.

Hopefully a couple days in the fridge will make they drop down.

I did wonder if the britewort could make it happen? Just seems odd that non of my other brews have looked like this.
