Hi Coxy,

there is a (19l) recipe for porter from Palmer's book about halfway down here:
http://www.howtobrew.com/section4/chapter19-3.html. Just cut all ingredients in half.

I can't say from first-hand it's "proven" .. I plan to try out the extract+steeped-grain version tomorrow (or something similar). But other recipes from this book have been good.

Also, there are probably plenty of porter recipes on the forum recipe section above.

All the best,

Ian

Here's a brown porter I've brewed a couple of times. You'll need to plug it into your software to scale it down:

Recipe Specs
Batch Size (L): 25.0
Total Grain (kg): 5.305
Total Hops (g): 70.00
Original Gravity (OG): 1.047 (°P): 11.7
Final Gravity (FG): 1.013 (°P): 3.3
Alcohol by Volume (ABV): 4.43 %
Colour (SRM): 20.4 (EBC): 40.2
Bitterness (IBU): 29.3 (Tinseth)
Brewhouse Efficiency (%): 73
Boil Time (Minutes): 60

Grain Bill
4.000 kg Maris Otter Malt (75.4%)
0.650 kg Brown Malt (12.25%)
0.535 kg Crystal 60 (10.08%)
0.120 kg Chocolate (2.26%)

Hop Bill
40.0 g Fuggles Leaf (6.24% Alpha) @ 60 Minutes (Boil) (1.6 g/L)
30.0 g Fuggles Leaf (6.24% Alpha) @ 10 Minutes (Boil) (1.2 g/L)

The brown malt is delicious, but I've found that it needs a good 2 or 3 months conditioning to be at its best.

Thank you both, I ideally would like an 1872 porter by elland brewery clone. Liquid Gold!
