POOR HEAD RETENTION

Is it just me or do most folk suffer from the same problem regards head retention? I have had excellent head retention, carbonation for the first 20 or so pints in my pressure barrels (fitted with either co2 or s30 vales) but now nearing the last third/quarter of the barrel I am finding head retention poor. IT pour well but head disappears quickly while carbonation still pretty good. Any suggestions or is this just the way it goes. :

Make sure you rinse your glasses in very hot water with no detergent. Any soap residue will kill your head!

And then I presume ok to chill the glass afterwards yes?

Yeah that's fine. Hot water will get rid of any residue then rinse again with cold.
