I liked some of their early stuff e.g. Pipers at the Gates of Dawn.
Animals is a good album. I saw then when they toured that one and it put me right off. They played most Dark Side of the Moon without appearing to notice that they had an audience, said "we're going to take a break now", came back 15 minutes later and played Animals, walked off, came back and played Money as an encore. Every song was played exactly as it was on the record. I could have just sat at home and played the records with the volume turned up.
When I go to see a band at a gig I expect things to sound different to the highly produced recordings, I expect them to interact with their audience, there was none of that with Floyd, it was sterile.
It was long time ago, can you tell that I still haven't got over it? And don't start me on Richie Blackmore....
