Hey Guys! Just finishing off my 2nd extract brew woo!

Im planning to do a pilsner lager as my dad still aint that impressed with the lagers i've made so far!

Recipe (thanks to aleman):

3 Kilo Extra Light Spraymalt
65g Northern Brewer hops
45g Tettnang hops

then a late addition of 15g Tettnang at last 15 mins of boil.

He suggested S23 for yeast but would White Labs Liquid Yeast - WLP800 - Pilsner Lager Yeast be better?

any other ideas to really make the most of this extract recipe would be appreciated, and thanks again to Aleman!

s23 is a good yeast and will certainly give you the flavour profile you are after. You could also consider Saflager w34/70. Just make sure you ferment at a low temperature - I did both at around 10C and although it took a while they are true to style.

If you have the time to grow up your yeast from whitelabs say to a 5L starter then go with the whitelabs (and don't forget to ferment between 12-14C otherwise you are wasting your money).

W34/70 is an excellent yeast, and so is s23 - In fact as they are true lager yeasts they could be described as specialist ;)
