IMHO you just can't beat a kate and sidney pie or stake n ale pie wi thick flaky pastry and mash and fresh vegs with it.

H/M potato pie :thumb: with or without a crust and tinned steak or corn-beef.
ingredients
1 tinned-meat large.
3lb-potatoes.
2 carrots.
1 large onion.
2 oxo.
white pepper.(to taste)
1 large glug of worcester sauce.
brown hp sauce(to taste :thumb: )

it's like chicken nuggets, just rebranded lips & arses, bleached.
I do love a good pie though Wez, with spuds or pastry topping and anything inside from slow cooked meat, fish to apple and rubarb, yumidy flippin yum.
Now if someone started a topic on stews, oh yeah baby, proper winter food :D

The only good thing about winter ....... the food  especially when you're getting on a bit

Pork and Apple Lattice - it HAS to have the same crust as a porkpie!

But then this is a favorite Dorset recipe of mine from years back, no one but my old local butcher used to make it to order - fresh basked and still warm when i started.
