Spurred on by another thread I've dug these out. I used to work at Vaux Brewery in Sunderland that owned Wards brewery in Sheffield. When the breweries closed down in 2000 they made some commemorative beers aptly called 'Time gentlemen please" and all staff got bottles of them. I decided to keep mine rather than drinking them. Somehow I ended up with two of the Wards brew. Must confess to being a bit emotional when I took the pictures. Should be well conditioned after 24 years.

I left school in in 1968 started work as an apprentice painter and decorator, first wage £3/12/6d after deductions, that didn't last long i got a job in an aluminium foundry making rollers for paper mills and sealing rings for rolls royce jet engines
