Personally I prefer glass.

I get to enjoy my ale's colour as well as it's aroma, taste and mouthfeel...

I keep trying different glasses but still can't find one i love yet.
I like the idea of the stone types but as callum says you don't get to enjoy the look of it too.

I have noticed a sliding scale of vessels that improve the taste of beer (worst to best):

- Aluminium or steel can
- Plastic bottle
- Plastic cup
- Glass bottle
- Correctly-shaped glass
- Pewter tankard
- Drinking horn
- Clay or ceramic tankard
- Hollowed-out skull of your vanquished opponent

When the stick bashers come to Upton for the folk festival in April they bring their own pewter tankards with them , usually clipped to their belts .

The pubs only use plastic glasses that weekend.

I've never tried drinking from a tankard ,but one old chap I know swears it makes even Banks bitter taste like a premium ale!

Have you tried THBF glass? Nice feel in the hand and a good weight.

Glass for me, straight no handles and when drinking bottled beer i use a half pint which I top up as per Newcastle brown method of serving. :thumb: :thumb:

I like my clay tankards and steins but do like to use the drinking horn when on holiday in Spain! :)

I read a research paper a while back which identified the lining on cans as contributing a "harsh bitterness", it also postulated that it was this lining responsible for the drive for low cohumulone hops while actually cohumulone has the very opposite effect.
