Ive just bought a pear cider kit to make my first ever home brew cider.
I decided on this (see attached).
If i add more sugar does the strength increase?
Also instead of the included pear juice could i squash my own conference pears?

Just do the kit as per instruction and see if you like it.
Adding more sugar will make it stronger. How strong do you want it?
You can juice pears but you'll need to pulp them then squash them ideally in a purpose made press...I wouldn't bother!

Just add less water, and get it stronger that way. Ten percent less water, 10 percent more sugar, and it will be stronger but not very different.
Don't add own pears now, just try it as the instructions say.

You COULD however set some liquor aside, juice pears and add them in a separate vessel. So you would have two vessels: one original, and one you screwed around with. Oh, and extra yeast perhaps.

I am with Clint if you don't know how good/bad the standard kit is (made to instructions) you will not know how much you have improved it.
