I saw this recipe for Peanut Butter Porter on t'internet and it caught my eye as it combines 2 things I love - peanut butter and beer!
The recipe looks a bit advanced for me - I've only done 4 all-grains and this looks potentially tricky.
Never seen powdered peanut butter before!
I thought some of the more adventurous of you may be interested in it. Or I may have a go at this later in the year once I have learned this craft a bit better!

Remove the oil? Both butter and peanuts are full of oil... what would you have left without that?

He spent 6 weeks removing the oil .. that's either dedication or madness .... and I know which I'd go for

Good luck.. I love the thought of a peanut porter, but have better brews to do I think. Let me know if you go for it, I'd love to steal your hard work though :D

Id agree that 6 weeks removing the oil from peanut butter is obsessive to the point of being a bit mad. Those crazy Yanks!
Although this powdered stuff could be the lazy answer... I wonder if peanut butter without the peanut oil or the butter still tastes like peanut butter though...? :wha:

It's certainly tempting, but still has 15% fat. Was that an American site? Do they deiver to the UK?

I don't think I'd risk it personally, I'd rather let someone do the hard work and then steal it :D My missus restricts my brewing (or rather gives me a lot of earache if I brew too often), I can't afford to experiment to that degree unfortunately.

Yes think thats an American site - I expect they'd deliver that stuff to the UK if you asked them nicely.
I am half tempted to give this a bash as an experimental brew... :-)
I have been looking for an unusual recipe to fill a load of brewdog bottles to give away as xmas presents. This is certainly a contender.

cheaky monkey peanut butter should be easy to get the oil out of without the long wait as it has already seperated in the pot, just pour it off and use the hard dry stuff at the bottom . might need 2 or 3 pots of it for the recipe to work though.
when i get some time I may have a go
