Bought a sack of M.O which has been used for my last couple of brews and now have a spare fridge and was wondering if the M.O can be used for a lager or would it be better to use a lager malt?.
Trying to get organised because it will be barbecue time pretty soon and more people will drink lager than my ales.

Cheers Andy

I'd say give it a go Andy. It'll be a little darker than you might want, and perhaps a little more malty, but if it gets the job done before it gets too hot to ferment a decent lager (just seen you've got a fridge), then I'm sure your guests will put up with something that's probably a lot better than most of the stuff they'll consume in a pub. Suggest finding the right yeast and hops is just as important. In my opinion Saaz hop makes a lovely brew when paired with S23 yeast. That said I had a fairly decent result this year with Youngs lager yeast at 99p a pack, just watch it below 10 degrees, it goes to sleep. Good to hear how you get on.
