Thinking about installing one with a twin feed thermostatic controlled shower powered by a combi....

Any thoughts or recommendations?

shape of bath will make no difference other than will it fit , shower fine as long as your house pressure good , some have low pressure which means a crapola shower as it'll be cold but usually no probs . Combi's are great imo . make sure it's level and use around a tube of mastic to stick the bath to the wall then tile then more mastic , many fitters don't bother with the mastic first and many baths have leaks because of this , all in all simple to do . p.s use flexible tap connectors (bath) and speed fittings , avoid compression as this is also what leaks the most (right by tap which you can't bloody get to after ) . Have fun .

I don't like those P-shaped baths personally. If the wide end is where you would rest your back whilst sitting in the bath; you tend to roll around a bit as there is no 'support' to one side of your shoulders. But, if it fits and you like it then go for it.
The plumber who fitted my current suite screwed a frame to the wall to sit the bath on to....this stops it moving (far better than the brackets supplied) and stops it leaking etc.

My shower is a twin feed that works off the combi...never had a problem with it :)

We went for L shaped one, the wife loves it, and it's great for showering as gives you that bit more space than a normal bath.

Make sure you get one that fits though! We've a brand new one that was slightly too long sitting in the garage waiting to be put on ebay. Bought slightly in haste without really consulting a fitter.

We love our P shower bath as we mainly have showers.
We have an Aqualisa shower and it is excellent. Family and friends who've used it are very impressed.
It is a remote type with the pump unit hidden so you only see the control and shower head.

Get a good thick bath, if the thing is the thinner type it could split over time.

Place on eBay sells them very reasonably with a 10mm+ base that will take a chubby like me showering in all day if necessary.

We had a P shape bath for 9 years. Far better than normal shape for showers, not great for baths. I wouldn't want a shower over a normal bath now. I'd rather live with the narrow-one-end-wide-the-other bath scenario and go for a P shape, assuming you can have your head at the narrower end.

Check how narrow (elbow room) the narrow end is first. Ours was a bit tighter than a normal bath at that end, I think.

Same on the the shower, we have an Aqualisa quartz digital and it's the mutts nuts.

All of the plumbers we had round recommended them, and they all said it's worth spending the bit extra for reliability and easily available parts if it goes wrong.
