I just play around with a beginners session. I’ve been offered a place between the pipes for a beer league (Flintshire Phantoms) side but I just can’t commit. What position do you play?
I’ve not played for 30 years, a bit like you mainly for fun back in the day. Never actually played for the Flyers.
I more or less lived in the ice rink, I was on the ice staff so whenever I wanted we could all kit up and **** about. Except when hue curlers we on the ice.
However skating on ice after the curlers have finished is ace. Soft and grippy ice!
Position wise I was more of a winger, but could go down the centre. I was not bulky enough back in the day to play in defence.

Hi Foxy
Loved that show though have never seen the last few episodes, even the pirate stations don't have them.
... every episode ever made is available on the BBC iPlayer (link) ... you won't be able to watch the videos if you're not in the UK ... but there's free proxy software available to convince the website that you're over here, there's even one called FoxyProxy athumb..

Cheers, PhilB

Mountain biking, and detailing cars.

Generally get out on my bike twice a week, but with the Covid restrictions in my area that has been curtailed for the moment ( I donot ride on my own for safety).

Car was washed as detailed on Friday last, then Sunday, and it willbe washed again on Sunday :)

PS @Hagrid, my sport is hockey, once a Flyer, always a Flyer (Fife).
I know a few boys that are OCD about cleaning cars. Boy down the street is out at 7 am on a Sunday washing his car that's not dirty. Toothbrush on the alloy's.
Strange boy, he would have a heart attack if he seen the inside of my car.

I flit. Hold a hobby down for about 5 years and then often move on. Get good enough then look for something knew.

I like stuff with skill, craft, creativity, expression. However physical is rewarding too.

My list includes: camping, rock climbing, ice climbing, mountain biking, singlespeed cycling, photography, walking, painting, trail and fell running (and racing), brewing, canoeing.
Mostly, it's stuff that gets me outdoors for hours. Can't stand being stuck inside even though my job is 100% desk bound. I'm an engineer in mind and a creative at heart. Spent many years as a programmer and software engineer.

I favour hobbies where skill is more important than the kit you can buy. Lean and DIY is my preference.

That will be me tomorrow, early is better especially in the summer as any wax or sealants you apply, do not like being applied in direct sunlight.

I was up semi early to go and was and wax our caravan yesterday 👍

I have young children so a clean car is impossible. I know boys that won't take their children to the beach incase the car gets sand near it. Madness

I live near the beach (and should have called mini Hagrid “Moana”!) so out cars have their own personal beach in the footwell.

Boats (Sea-going & narrowboats). Radio-controlled Model Aircraft (Fixed wing). Jazz (New Orleans).

When I was at school I worked in the kitchen at Dundee Ice Arena and used to serve the Dundee Stars players their post-match lasagne. I’ve not been to see the Stars for at least 15 years though.

Martial arts ( tai chi, wing chun ), growing veg, any type of fishing.
All of which I have enjoyed sharing with my daughters as they've grown up though they're all in their late teens/early twenties now.

Edit; oh yeah also playing guitar and record collecting which like brewing are solitary pursuits !

Oh I am a bit of a silly person with hobbies. I start everything and get completely obsessive and then it sort of fizzles out. Learned how to play guitar when teenager- spent many days camping with mates singing songs by the fire - learned to play stairway to heaven and nothing else matters and then put it away and that was it. Sang in punk rock group, Collected fountain pens, started patchworking, cross-stitch, knitting, crochet... kids...made shed loads of fresh pasta and bought all attachments for two pasta machines I got :) ... started brewing wine :)

When I'm not doing DIY around the house, I've got one of these in my shed ..
