The brewday

Well it was a late start getting everything together for about 1pm. I was mashed in by 1.35pm got it 69c then by time id wrapped up boiler it was at a nice 66.7c, i was aiming for 66c so all good. After a 60 minute mash it had settled to 65c this warm weather is helping as i normally lose about 3 degrees ( i biab and have a 100ltr ss pot and about 36 litres of water in there).
So once id lifted the grain bag of cleaned it down etc etc the kettle was at a nice 80c so fwh went in and let it come to a nice boil.
I let it get to an hour in then started connecting up my new cfc with 20 mins left i turned it on now this is were i encountered my first issue my boil kettle struggled to get back up to boil, it could be the gas bottle being almost empty but it did kinda get back but i added an extra 5 mins on just to be safe.
Once i got to 0 mins i started the chiller this took about 15-20minutes to get to 27c i imagine in the winter it will be faster. The next slow part was filling the fv it took a long slow 25 minutes to get it in the fv. Id disconnected the cfc and dropped it straight from boiler to get nice aireation i may try drive it with pump next time.

I got 23 litres in fv and is nicely sitting in fv fridge as we speak

Any questions please feel free to ask

Cheers sean
