I have a batch of pale ale that I have primed using malt extarct in a cornelius keg.

On Sunday night I put this in to my fridge to prepare to add gelatine the following evening.
I carried out the gelatine fining last night and then put the keg back into the fridge.

I must have inadvertantly knocked the thermostat (not wired up the tc10 yet  ).......anyway, I get back from work tonight and the keg is frozen

I'm not sure how solid it has frozen....I dare not really disturb it too much, other than to take it from the fridge and in to the kitchen to thaw out
I have re-sealed the lid, and pumped some more CO2 in and then vented and topped up CO2.

I wondered if anyone else had done this and what the resultant batch was like?
Will I have knocked out the carbonation?
Have I ruined my beer?

Thank goodness I didn't put the other corny of the same brew in there too

This is how Brew Dog make there extra strong Beer's.
Freeze, take off the un frozen liqued, Bingo high alcohol Beer :D .
Be carefull as I beleve that Alcohol, Methanol & Ethanol are produced at different temp's :wha: . Someone should know more than me.

You've been damned lucky not to destroy the keg, I've seen photos of kegs with badly distorted and unsealable lid openings that were caused by the contents freezing. Whatever happens with the beer I would count yourself lucky that you didn't kill one of your family! :)

Crikey
I better have a look at that tc10 sooner rather than later.

The beer turned out fine btw ;)
