Hello there! I have dithered for months and today decided to empty my brain onto a poorly laid out excel spread sheet….

I would really appreciate someone who knows what they’re doing to have a look at my wiring diagrams for a 2 element, (5.5kw + 3.5kw) electric brewing setup for a 1bbl system I’m throwing together.

Diagram 1, is one PID hooked up to 2 SSR’s. I don’t even know if that’s possible, I can’t seem to find any decent info on it, so I’ve just had a punt…

Diagram 2, is one PID hooked up to control the 5.5kw element via an SSR. The 3.5kw element is then wired up to a Rheostat via an SSVR.

I am not dead set on either really, just want to get it going somehow.

Important to mention, the PID is not an Inkbird, but from my LHBS where i'm based in France these days, so the wiring is a bit different.

My level of electrical knowledge is minimal when it comes to the technical terms for things, but I know the basics, so apologies in advance.

If somebody has a better diagram also, I would appreciate a look.

Many, many thanks in advance
