I popped round to ye olde friendly maltings in Warminster this afternoon and watched the bloke fill me a bag of the freshest Mo I ever did see. It lay in my car while I was at work, when I got in to drive home the smell was awaesome, I wanted to inhale the whole bag......
This my friends is fetish territory... I kid you not....

Now I have sniffed it.... any suggestions what I can do with it..... I was thinking 5 galls of Butcombe or big kenny or bluebird on Sunday.

bet it smells great , shame i now live so far away from there
might get my mum to grab a couple of sacks when she goes down to salisbury again
how much was it?

Sweet Jesus your poor Mother!

I know what my Old Lady would say if I rang her up and said " 'ere our Mam, pop down the Maltsters and get 'us 50 kilos of Pale Malt will ya?" Unforunately her reply wouldn't be "Golden Promise or Marris Otter?"

il just remind her its her birthday soon lol
my sister can grab some on her way up here
or even better invite everyone we know up from salisbury for a bbq and ask them all to grab a sack on the way lol

they take £28.50 for cash..... which is a bloody bargain in my book...... Just jumped into the car again tonight and the smell is gorgeous.... its really fruity.... a bit like driving round in a large malt loaf...
Decided Im doing 40L of Butcombe tomorrow......

nice one Frisp
looked on there site last night there postage is a bit pricey considering how much they must send out youd expect there postage rates to be pretty low
i know i can post up to 30k for £10.50 next day delivery

Have to say I have never looked at their postage rates, Its only a 10 minute drive from work so I just have to pop along at lunchtime.... The whole place just smells lovely. My last bag was Muntons and there is a world of difference in the aroma coming from this bag.. I have high hopes.... PS brewday is postponed until tomorrow. Im having a go at making one of Vossy's SS box style hop strainers. **** I should have taken pics..... rollox..... Hmm..... as the wife said to me only last night... "I think Im going to have to fake it again....." ;)

I suggest you seal it up, and dispose of it as there is obviously something wrong with it . . . . I am licensed to dispose of waste grain, and can get Parcels to go to collect it tomorrow

All this talk is making me want to go into the garage and sniff my sack.

I came across this site based in Salisbury that are selling Warminster maltings grains for £31.99 for 25kg with only £5.65 24 hr delivery. They also have a good range of hops and yeasts.

Frisp is right, they are really good quality grains and really fresh.

Anyone know a good recipe for Summer Lightning?

Great site by the way
