old lager

I brewed a coopers lager a while back, as in December 2010. It's in a kingkeg which has sat out my back garden all this time, do you think it is safe to drink after sun to snow has hit it?

I wouldnt! but try a mouthfull, you can always spit it out.

I think you'll know soon enough after tasting. Does your barrel still have pressure?

It's either going to be very very good or very very bad - I can't see there being a middle way here!!

No pressure in the keg, will have a taste tonight

There was pressure in the keg, tasted flat, and not much taste, i think a lil squirt of extra co2 and some lime cordial should do the job. just hope after a few oints i dont end up with the squits.
also it was a geordie lage not a coopers if that makes any difference, a cheap wilkinsons jobby.

if its flat always try with some lemonade in a wee shandy, that way you get to drink all of the beer, its less alcohlic but lasts longer!

How long can you leave a lager for? I've got to brew for a special occasion next may. 12months is probably on the long side, but 9 or 6?
