Bloody hell, there's some romancing going on here tonight. Simon Bates will be along soon to play 'your tune'.

As long as it's Simon and not Master I don't mind

I am not keen on spiders, i hate fruit flies.

I've never liked spiders but our house, being in the country, is completely full of them. Thing is though, when the flies invade in the summer they're usually gone by the morning hence the old saying `a house with spiders is a healthy house'. By the way, those enormous ones that scuttle about rather than sitting on webs live on a diet of ... other spiders.
Mind you, not so keen when they run across your face in the middle of the night.

Blimey, three pages on this thread so far, didn't think it would attract that much attention:lol:

You don't get big spiders in the uk, you big girls blouse

Not so sure anymore, this one I haven't identified yet it's about 1.5 to 2 inches across. Lives outside which is unsual for such a big spider. Found false black widows, british ones and ones with red stripe from southern europe, think came with a shed I bought from garden centre.

Once they hit 4" you can call them big, be glad you don't live somewhere warm if 2" freaks you out

It's the small ones are the worst, know three people bitten, one 11 on a park bench, one putting hand on grass in park (36) and another at 78 no idea where was bitten and hospitalised for some weeks by false black widow bites, would suppose the grass one was the southern european one with a red stripe. They all had all these great bags of puss boils where bitten, all up leg, arm and neck face and all over back on the young one bit.

Most spider bites will go that way afaik, if they bite they are bad news usually

Generally I avoid them all, but don't find them scary until they ger to side place size

We've got those false widow spiders in our skylights. I Hoover them up as I can't get to them to use the glass technique
