just sitting here on the pc when i felt something crawling on my bonce. Thinking it was probably a fly i brushed it off with a quick flick of the hand. Turned to speak to my wife and lo and behold on the floor was a whopping great spider:-o:-o:-o, and i mean big, it was humungus and was obviously the culprit that was on my head:-o:-o:-o luckily for me my wife stepped in to tackle the beast with a delf drop of a heavy book, followed by a concerted series of jumping exercises on said book whilst i stood at a safe distance- phew saved:thumb:

That's my worst nightmare. Keep them down your end of the street, please.

You big girl.......

I never kill spiders, I am not kean on them, I use the glass & beermat approach to put them outside unharmed.

That's also my approach. Though I just chuck the whole lot, glass, mat and spider into the garden in case the bugger somehow crawls up my arm.

Surprised they're out this early, it's usually sept/oct they start invading houses. Man I hate spiders.

Gareth, I have an inherent fear of the b#####s. Living room, kitchen and dinning room now fully sprayed with crawling insect spray:thumb:, wife is coughing her head off though:lol:.
I catch and dispose of the crane flies in september and she deals with the spiders, that's a fair trade off in my book:thumb:

You bunch of ponces. I cup them in my hands and stick them out in the garden.

Now, moths.... Pure evil, i'll run crying like a girl if I see a moth. Horrible.

Ooh dear...

Moths? Packed full of evil fluttering about blinded by your lights..

When we first moved into our cottage (it comes with the job) it had stood empty for about 12mths. The first few months every night at least 6 great big hairy long-legged spiders made a break for it from the chimney breast, I became very good at leaping to my feet and splatting them with the fire shovel!! Needless to say word spread fast amongst the spider community and their appearances are now few & far between.

Sue, you sound like my sort of girl:lol:, quick on your feet, handy with a weapon and fearless!. If i were not already married i think i might just have proposed:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

never killed a spider in my life, the wife has hysterics if she sees one,cue me either scooping them up in my hand or a glass and a piece of card so not to harm them then put them out in the garden, real man me

You are aware that most of the time when you put them out in the garden, they do in fact die a pretty gruesome death most of the time anyways. Either that or they simply trot back into your gaff through the many holes and gaps that exist...

Spiders are awesome as they eat all the other insects...
