It’s my understanding that you need to be double vaccinated or better to get into the US, so that’s another Grand Slam Tournament he probably won’t be in either.

I saw Macron said he is going to piss off the unvaccinated, and make life difficult for them. So that’s the French Open out of the window as well.

No doubt Boris, not Becker his former coach, will personally welcome him to Wimbledon.

It’s amazing how people all get behind the governments and wag their fingers at the minority that don’t get vaccinated for whatever reason they have and I feel it should be personal as to why someone chooses to get it or not. He did broadcast the fact that he had gotten a medical exemption so that denied him the right to privacy. It’s the attitude people take toward someone that’s decided not to have the vaccine that gets me. Who the fcuk are you to look down your nose at someone that has chosen to abstain ?
on the other hand if you don’t get it then you have to be prepared for getting turned away from settings that require it.
We will very soon have red zones and green zones.
and yes I’m double vaccinated.

It's science and statistics, not the government. A government is supposed to carry out the wishes of the people, in this case, try to keep people safe. That's much the same as a traffic signal on a corner. Blow a light, get inconvenienced.
There is a general disdain for people who think they're above others and don't have to follow the same rules. He complains? Well, welcome to the club,, buddy, because we're all being inconvenienced.
I don't care if he does or doesn't get vaxxed, wouldn't care if he committed suicide (as long as it didn't harm someone else), but he shouldn't be surprised when he runs into a roadblock because his personal decision will affect others.
As I posted earlier, if you live on an island, then have at it. If you live with others, expect to be inconvenienced and not being able to do whatever you want.

I agree with most of the above sentiment re Novax Djokovic but he has found himself caught between Australian population sentiment and our ultra rightwing ultra religious (hillsong ffs*) trying to be a Popularist Prime Minister who is turning into a CC of his Hero Donald Trump, says one thing in the morning and swears the complete opposite in the afternoon… a pathological liar

I don't look down my nose at people who choose not to have it for health reasons but the conspiracy theory lot do my head in and I am all for those people having restrictions put on where they can go, I didn't want the vaccine but had it for the good of everyone, how many times do they need to read cases like in this thread where anti vaccers have been at deaths door and have said they regretted not having been vaccinated do they need to read before the penny brops.

Except the rules this time are to force someone to get a vaccine that dosnt want to get it. No matter his reasons it’s his decision right or wrong his alone. He also has no right to flout that country’s specific law just because he is a famous.

Lots af Australians were on tv doing exactly that criticising him for not getting the ***.
my point is lots of society believe we have no choice but to get vaccinated to keep everyone safe. But everyone has a choice and every choice has consequences so you make your decision and live with it.
I got my vaccine to allow me to continue with normal life with my family. The fact that I can still catch and spread covid worries me.

I hear you and I agree, pretty much, that people have a right to refuse the shots. But how far do we go to accommodate someone's decisions if they're not logical? From a societal point of view, allowing someone to endlessly choose wrongly/emotionally/based on bad info comes into play: letting everyone do anything they want, because it's their own choice, would make a huge mess.
Decisions by a person (the ones that affect others too) have to be logical or reasonable (not hinder the survival of others); otherwise, that person could land in jail so as to protect society from him.
We can talk of freedom but there is not an endless freedom to be had; if there were, society would be a disaster.

I think the talk of this vaccine being mandatory, and that being wrong, is skewing the point somewhat - within the context of this thread.

Many countries will impose a mandate on a specific vaccine as a requirement of entry. This is nothing new but maybe because many 'popular' destinations don't require this it isn't high on people's awareness.

For example, plenty of countries require you to have proof of yellow fever vaccination to enter the country - a International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP).

Australia has imposed similar for entry in relation to Coronavirus.

As a non-national requesting entry into the country, that is the rule that Djokovic has to abide by or show a valid medical exemption within Australia's rule.

This debate isn't about mandatory vaccination.

I was going to answer but Flat Foot has done a far better job of saying what i was going to than i would have -

Heard on the news earlier that in India a chap is being investigated as he managed to get 8 covid vaccinations last year!

Why would you want 8 did he think it gives you 8 times the protection? :confused.:

Seems like he wasn’t alone with the “special treatment” there is another 1 or 2 that stayed quiet but are now in a quarantine hotel awaiting deportation
