Has anyone used these?

They’re reasonably priced, with free postage, but don’t seem to be packaged like the normal Lallemand Nottingham packs.

Alternatively, what would be the best substitute from the Mango Jacks or Safale/Fermentis ranges?

Few months back my friend was doing a MM order and asked did i need any thing?
I said grab me a couple of packs of lallemand nottingham yeast and a couple verdant ipa.
No problem with the verdant ipa, but nottingham LOL, get your ass to wilko £2 a pack.....lesson learned!!!

I just used Wilko Gervin yeast on an Exmoor Gold, for the first time in ages. I got a whopping 92% attenuation down from 1052 to 1004 in 7 days giving an ABV of 6.3% when expected 5.3%.

I have the same problem: beers too strong due to over-attenuation. Tastes fine, but if I wanted a beer 20% stronger, I'd brew it 20% stronger. I'm going to have to look again at my mashing schedule.

Could there not also be some wild yeast in there though? 1004 sounds very low for a beer.. When I hear beers that low from 1050 I start to get suspicious

It's possible but it tasted ok. Wort did fill the airlock so that might have caused an invention.

I used llallemand Nottingham for the first time in a northern brown ale. The target FG for the recipe was 1.013 and it ended up 1.010.

I used the slurry from the northern brown in a smash beer that started at 1.046 yesterday and is currently sitting at 1.022.

I think there used to be a Wilko in Belfast many years ago but must have shut down and unfortunately they don't deliver to NI.
