Just put on a coopers original stout
I know everyones done this kit but it's my first time done the wilko stout but not the coopers anyway really looking forward to a tasting in a few weeks.

Brewed with 1 Coopers original stout tin
500g extra dark spraymalt
500g brewing suger
250g mollasses
sg 1045 brewed to 21ltrs

FV coopers original stout

conditioning woodfordes sundew
drinking coopers canadian blonde

Knowing me might have spelt it wrong .
its unrefined suger really sticky and dark and smells gorgeous.

Molasses is what's left of raw sugar when it's been boiled and the crystals removed to make white sugar / golden syrup / etc. It's what they ferment then distil to make rum.
Goes well in stout when used in moderation.

Black treacle is similar but not as concentrated.

Sounds about right bribie used it in the 2 can wilko real ale too turned into a really nice pint .

Going to brew my coopers kit later today, was going to use to use 1kg DME and 500g of molasses, wondering if I should cut down on the molasses?

Cheers calumscott .I've got one of the new coopers fv with krausen ring hoping the extra height will cover it . I don't use the krausen ring for most brews but I read the reviews on the coopers stout kit first .

Not sure jeff64 still fairly new to this myself its all trial and error at the moment but still not made a beer I haven't drunk :D

Thats what makes it so much fun

Just been on the Coopers Beer website, in the how to brew section they have 5 stout recipes, telling you what ingredients to add to their kits. They cover all their kits infact, its a really good site.

Cheers jeff64 with there being so many coopers kits to try will have to give the site a look. Got a coopers lager on the way might look for some inspiration on there .

Just a little update got home last night and checked the fv after a few days of not much happening big head of foam on top really looking forward to this now :D [

Sorry for updating an old post but just had couple of these apart from not great head retention what a nice drink even so young .good carbonation but not a long lasting head bitter after taste is just right defiantly not a 1 time brew .
