If I primary ferment in a bucket then move to demijohns to clear say 4-7 days then bottle clear beer with primer will I get clear fizzy beer or flat sweet beer?

thanks

No matter how clear it looks in the fermenter, there will always be some amount of yeast left in suspension.

Your beer will carbonate no problem, but it may take a little longer than expected.

thanks for the reply mark. My last batch I ran out of bottles so put the dreggs into a demijohn.
Have now bottled it.

So do you recon keep warm for two weeks then move to a cooler place?

Yes that is nomal practice. Infact what you are best to do is leave in a warm place for a couple of weeks and then try one (quality assurance purposes), if it has enough carbonation the move it to a colder place for storage. If it doesn't quite have the condition you expected then leave it another week and try again.

Another simple but effective method is to have a plastic bottle for one (or two) of your beer bottles, and it will tell you the degrees of carbonation by either squeezing it or by gripping the bottle by the cap and flicking the bottle with your finger - the higher the "ping" tone the more carbonation is present. After a few goes you'll be an expert "pinger"! ;)
