Hi all,
Finally taken the plunge and started my first home brew. Its a Coopers kit with Woodfordes Wherry bitter. Given to me by my son for Xmas!
I started the fermentation last Weds and all seems to be ok with the airlock bubbling away .My natural impatience wonders how long on average should I leave it to ferment before I start the next phase? I am trying to maintain a temperature of 19 degrees in spare bedroom which I'm just about managing to do, although to play safe I have wrapped an old duvet around the container!
Cheers for any feedback.

Hi Beerking, welcome to the forum! Sounds like you're doing ok so far, just leave it about a week, when the bubbling slows and stops, take a gravity reading and see what it says :)

Wassail!

Hello and Welcome

As someone else said minimum of a week normally then take hydrometer readings, when you get the same reading a couple of days in a row it should be done.

However quite a few people on here will leave it 14 days, it wont hurt the brew leaving it in there that long. Also cool it down before bottling (either in the same fermenting vessel (FV) or in a secondary to help it clear :thumb:
