Hi all, just made and bottled my first brew, Woodfordes Wherry. It's not bad, a little flat but just read that the carbonating tablets were for 375cl bottles not 500cl. I will know next time, just bought an Admiral kit for my next brew.

Beer that's a tad flat now might be spot-on in three or four weeks.

I'm sure you've done this already but condition your beer in a fairly warm place. It won't carbonate in the fridge! Might take a full 2+ weeks too

One of those drops should be ok for an English ale.

Thanks for the welcome. The bottles were conditioned in the warm for a few days as per the instructions, it then said put them in a cool place for 10 days or until clear. They are in my cold loft, but I am bringing them down to warm up before drinking, they are definitely clear.

Have you tried one yet Barry? It's a bit soon yet and it'll definitely improve with time, but nothing wrong with trying an early 'sample' for QA purposes (wink).
For what it's worth I'm always super-critical of my own brews, so it's good to serve one to a friend and ask for 'honest feedback' - the are usually super-complimentary in the hope of getting more free beer
