I’m guessing an order for CO2 bulbs is already on it’s way 😂

On doing some more research I may have moved to the keg before primary fermentation was fully complete which is causing excess gas build up. If I removed lid, fixed tap then added sugar instead of a gas bulb would this work or just make the excess pressure problem even worse?
You have a (crude) relief valve in your PB cap. If there is excess pressure in your PB it should vent. But before you get to that point you will be dispensing mostly foam rather than beer, unless you throttle the tap down to a dribble.
If there is not much top pressure in your PB you can do what I suggested above ie carefully vent the remaining gas in the PB, then reprime, then replace the cap. If you are going to attend to your tap for a while I would put some cling film over the PB nozzle opening. And after you have reprimed, leave the PB in a warm place for few days to allow the yeast to get going again and chew on the sugar and recharge the PB with CO2.
