Well hi guys ive been looking around a few weeks now and decided to take the plung and and do one of the easyest homebrews first. A strawbery and apple tc

So I started sunday and the process i did started with sterilising everything and then boiling one ribena strawberry juice adding 150g of sugar and leaving to cool while adding 3 litres of apple juice to a demijohn then adding the cooled ribena to the demijohn after whic I took the temp and it read 21-22 deg so I added a pk of yeast and teaspoon of nutrients and shook it up then placed the airlock in after a15mins it was bubbling well and about half inch of head was in the demijohn yesterday there was the same amout of foam and a couple of bubbles a second but today I noticed maybe 2 bubbles in 8 seconds and no head so I was wondering if this is normal?

Reasonable. It can take a while to get going, then it goes like a train for a couple of days, then it slows down. Exact timings and ferment speeds vary by recipe and temperature, what yeast you used and nutrient levels.
Leave it alone for at least a week then try to decide if it's finished or not.

Cheers guys i was a bit worried that it had stopped fermenting because id done wrong. Ill wait till sunday then before taking a reading.

i put some pomegranate TC on and never had a head (foam). Took off about 48 hours in. i never get worried until its been 3 days. usually pretty safe with TC tho. I always brew 4L and no more but make it high in sugar for top up. Had a couple of cases with bubbling through airlock in the past. lesson hard learned. Shot the airlock and hit the roof! made a right mess. Missus cleared it up as i was away at the time :whistle:

Haha I only have 4l in mine at the min started it sunday and I put 150g of sugar in mine should I topup with 500ml off apple juice tonight? When I checked at the beginning it was on 1.050 (8%?) I dont mind it weak for my first ever brew as long as its drinkable : cheers:

Well it worked. Checked it yesterday and it was just under 1.00 tried a sip and it tasted good. I bottled all woth a spoon of sugar. And did 2 with 20ml of lime juice 2 with a spoon of sweetner 2 with 2 spoons of sweetner and 2 plain just to see which is best next time.. :)
