hi all new to the forum can anyone tell me the best kits out there that taste similar to old speckled hen, hobgoblin and old peculiar cheers

Hi and welcome. To answer your question I don't think theres a 'kit' to do any of these! You'd have to go down the road of modifying an existing kit, using an extract kit (I don't like to recommend non sponsors but try brewuk.co.uk) or all grain. Extract will be your best bet if you've got a big pot and some experience. Although others on here might be able to help you further on the modifying a kit route

While there may not be any kits that match your favourite beers, you should be able to find one that is of a similar style. I'm sure someone on here will be along to help.

Your favourites all have a strong feel about them - I'd go for a Woodfordes Admiral's Reserve kit, it was the first one I did after 20 years off brewing and I was surprised how good it was. It's not going to be like any of the beers you mention (probably closest to Speckled Hen) but it'll be a good pint, reasonably strong, more hops than than your beers.

I agree with dave, admirals reserve is a smashing, strong brew. M first couple of pints of it i thought it was a bit heavy, but then i really started to enjoy it, and it didnt last long. Cracking pint :thumb:
