im new to homebrewing it says on the kit leave in fermenting barrel for 4-6 days or until bubbles seize to come up the airlock filter, its day 2 nothing coming up the airlock does that means it ready or shall i leave it please help

If its in a bucket then chances are the lid will not be air tight and you wont see any bubbles through the airlock anyway. Most people leave there brew in the FV for between 10-14 days before bottling, keging or putting in a pressure barrel.

hi griff, I seem to have had/be having the same problem, I started my first ever coopers draught kit on saturday and had everything in the bucket for 5pm, I'm sure I done everything right, but I've still not had any bubbles come through. I gave it a good stir on sunday about 11am to get some air about it, there is a light foaming round the waterline of the bucket and a bit of foam on top but I'm worried as its my first time.
a few folk said if there still wasnt any bubbling to put in a new pack of yeast but others have said the light foaming means its fermenting, I'm probably just going to leave it for 10 days.
I noticed on my bucket on the sides where the handle is attached the holes are big enough for air to escape so I'm hoping thats where it is going. Its been sitting constantly around 22 degrees.
I suppose we'll see what happens...

Welcome to the forum.

Airlock bubbling is not an accurate measure of whether or not fermentation is taking place, often if the FV is not completely sealed Co2 will escape by the path of least resistance and no airlock activity can be observed. An accurate measurement is the Hydrometer, if the gravity is falling then it's fermenting. What was your OG?

Always good to leave the beer on the yeast for a week to clean up after fermentation has ceased (same gravity reading for 3 days).

Cheers,

Screwy

Take the lid off and put your head in the bucket and take a deep breath, if you go dizzy it's still fermenting. :D
