Hello All

I have been asking a few questions recently, thanks to all of you for the replies...

The 1st job for the new brewery was to get the concrete down and laid for the new Shed.....next week its building the shed.

I have a plastic AG set up that has done me very well over the last 2 years but now (or soon) I have a big brewery shed we are going BIG,

Well im going to brew in Stainless steel larger kegs.

I will prob need some help from the forum as you guys are in the know!!

the end aim is to enter and place in one class in the National Home Brew Competition in bristol in 2013.....

Do i have any chance..lets hope.

Lots more pics to come....(when i work out how to load pictures)

Cheers

Will

Will can't wait for the pics, a bit of brew porn is excellent I my books.

Am looking at redoing my shed as it is listing so get those pics up!

My mates Dad owned the New forest brewery at Cadnam, I hope it turns out better than that for you!

I was a Minstead boy for a while :) The Trusty ain't what it used to be!

This may be a crazy post....

but has anyone tried using pelleted hops?

As im designing my brewery from scratch could i make amendments to it. It would save a fortune in hops going off.

Main reason is i want to make some crazy American IPA's with 5 types of Hops!!

Cheers

Will

The main concern with pellets is how to prevent them getting into your fv from the boiler/copper. As you're designing from scratch you may want to consider how you'll use them.
Some folk use them in a bag in the boiler, alternatively you can use a very fine stainless mash for your copper filter (search the forum for hop stopper) and another alternative is to whirlpool :thumb:

I'm a Dorset Boy! Used to go to Burley to get Snake Catcher Scrumpy every week in the Summer. Looks like a good reason to go down again if another brewery is opening.

Hello all

Quick update on the lyndhurst brewery. Have now laid concrete and erected very large shed! XL 12x8 shed from tiger sheds, I also got a smaller shed so put all the garden stuff in so it didn't get in the way of the brewing stuff!

I would highly recommend tiger sheds if anyone is looking for a new man cave!

I've now got all the brewing stuff out of storage and given it a wash ready for a brew day on the 5 gallon plastic AG.

I haven't brewed for a few months so I can't wait to get the larger plant up and running!!

When I learn how to add photos I will start to add some.

Please look out for my post on this weekends brew day.

Will

Hi Will, its all sounding good look forward to some pics. If you need a Q-max cutter I've got a 20mm one you can borrow , also give me a shout if you want any Goldings this years crop will be more than I need depite the poor summer, I'm just down the road in New Milton. :thumb:

Nice, I'll be following this build too. Thanks for the tip of Tiger Sheds too. I'm looking to expand mine, and would love to have one big enough for a stainless setup as well as all the garden storage.
