Good Evening All,
My story begins about 2 months ago when I was sitting around the house watching the telly when I had a eureka moment - I was going to start brewing beer!
I started looking at all things "brewing" on the internet, and was slowly beginning to pick out the stuff I'd need to buy to get this new hobby up and running.
During this searching I found this great forum, and have been reading as much as possible - beer kit reviews, general tips and information and equipment guides - and all of it has been invaluable. Some of the things you guys get up to with your brewing and brewing set-ups makes you something like alchemists in my book!
Anyway, I decided to start small with a Coopers DIY Beer Kit, and bought 4 beer kits to start me off - Coopers Australian Lager (came with the starter kit), Better Brew Bandit Brew (girlfriend likes Desperado lager), Bulldog Brews Cortez Gold and Muntons Premium Gold Midas Touch Golden Ale. I am a lager drinker in the main, however, I have decided that I ought to broaden my horizons, if I am to get the full benefit and enjoyment out of home-brewing (hence the Midas Touch - I gotta start somewhere, right?)
Anyhow, I could go on for ages, but I will be posting up my 1st brew-day story (I started with the Bandit Brew) on one of the other categories.
So to all of you guys out there, cheers for all of the tips, and I am sure that your knowledge and wisdom will be well used by me in the future.
