Negotiating the purchase of our dream home. Have been back and forward with the estate agent all morning on a house on the market at £200,000, she made the rookie error of saying that she was having difficulty getting people through the door to view it :wha:. Anyway, have just offered £176,000 as best and final offer.

Bricking it now.

Sounds like you may be about to get the deal of the century.

Good luck

Houses here in NI usually go for around 10% under asking price so it's not that unusual. The vendor has said that the lowest she is willing to go is £180,000. It's been on the market since January 2012 with no viewings. So we thought we would push that a little!! we're not in a chain and have deposit ready to go so it could be quite an attractive proposition. We shall see.

Estate agents don't let things slip unless it is beneficial to them so I think you could be allright.

Good luck :thumb: :thumb:

Perhaps she just wants it off the books. Can't see how telling us that it hasn't been popular would be in any way beneficial to her percentage though!!

She only gets percentage when she sells - any price will get her something.

Good luck mate, hopefully she wasn't referring to all the previous viewers being morbidly obese

 never thought of that....

£176,000 has been turned down, she said if we split the difference to 180 and go £178,000 she will take it. Just waiting for the agent to call back so I can make the offer!!!

Excellent news! Well done!

Does it need much doing to it or can you just move in and paint at leisure?
