Hi I'm Roy and this is my first post.
I have 15 lt of apple juice & pulp in a fermenting bin with airlock. How long does it take to start fermenting? Should I add anything? Cheers.

Hi Roy,

I’m sure a cider expert will be along shortly. I make cider but I ‘cheat’ and use the cheapest apple juice I can find and ferment with bread yeast (which actually works really well).

I have always added yeast to make my cider.
I've used cider yeast, wine yeast & bread yeast in various batches & they appear to work ok.

If you're relying on wild yeast, then it might take a few days to multiply up enough to show visible fermentation.
