Had a discussion about our water quality this morning. I thought it was hard, she thought it was soft. She won (again).

I had checked previously and thought it was hard. I have found the old board water calculator but can't seem to decipher my report. Can anyone help? Never looked at water treatment before but plan a Pilsner tomorrow.

That PDF doesn't really tell you what you want to know. Your after CaC03 alkalinity ppm. If you go onto welsh water website and input your postcode here

It'll tell you. However I'd treat it as a ball park figure as you'll only really know by testing your water yourself with a salifert kit or getting it tested.

You also need to know some of the other ions like calcium but it's not on your report
