Well here's a pint of it!

Note the time photo taken and the time posted. It has taken this long to drink it!!
I drink russian imperial stouts like water but this is something else I will be rechecking the brix in the morning I'm sure this is well over 10%, I feel as if I have had 5 pints in one glass!!!

Be warned It may be volatile!!!

What a recommendation, getting some of that brewed ready for December I think!

Just whipped this together in my new Electrim boiler - fancied a little extra hopping aside from that already present, so 20g northdown @ 60, and 20g northdown @ 10; grounds from one coffee pot, OG 1080 (on the nose!) length 23L and some Danstar Nottingham today. Thar she blows :D

Bottled half today as a sweeter stout, added yeast nutrient and hoping it'll drop below 1028. But that's just technicalities - this stuff is gorgeous!

Big start, smooth flavour, long finish

Ah bugger, yes, sorry, arrived a few days late as I had to set up a redelivery with RM, thank you very much! It's chilling in the beer fridge waiting for a bit of :drink:

Hi all - I realise this is a very old post now but maybe there is an update in need? I am looking at using the Muddydisco recipe but adding more hops for a bit of bittering. I calculated from the OG that it would settle out at 7.8% - did anyone get the FG to see what its final ABV came to? Also would I need to use a blow off type airlock (improvised of course) I don't really want foam spewing everywhere.

Hope that isnt too many questions and that maybe someone out there has a modified/improved recipe for a this stout. I am probably going to drop it in next week after I bottle the APA I have in the fermenter at the moment.

Cheers all.

Evening Rick, welcome to the forum :thumb: In answer to a couple of your questions, a blow off tube...defo...these dark big beers can be fliers :thumb:
As for a similar recipe try this it's had good reviews and was the inspiration for this brew ;)

Cheers - Im still learning the ropes as such and not ready for all grain yet (dont have the equipment), but will def save that as a link for the future. I am thinking that I'll use the two can Coopers, its about $15 per can here in NZ - probably the cheapest brand available. I am going to adapt it slightly maybe add extra cocoa and coffee, some people have added liquorice and treacle or mollasses as well so might be tempted to look into building up those underlying flavours. I am very keen on a 'winter warmer' with a high ABV, down here we are just moving into Autumn.

Cheers for the info. Still keen on hearing from anyone that has used the Bribie/Muddydisco two can mix.
