Nice one - it's always a learning experience...but you'll get better with each brew.

...and then Extract brews will take your fancy. And then you'll start getting tempted by All Grain.

Well, you will if you're anything like me

Was gutted when this didn't carbonate properly last time, so I'm having another bash at it :)

Coopers Lager
Muntons Beer Kit Enhancer 1kg
Pitched at 24 degrees, now sitting at a happy 22 degrees

Hello tasting even better now?

I was wondering how much sugar you used and size of bottles ?
Hoping to do mine in 10 days or so.

I used 1 and a half carbonation drops per 500ml bottle...

I think it's stopped fermenting though :?

Just bottled this today, FG was 1.006 so with an SG of 1.041 I get that to be 4.7% near enough. Couldn't resist a sneaky taste and it was awesome! Actually can't wait to drink this :D

I bottled mine about 4 weeks ago using 1 1/2 carb drops per 500ml bottle and I find it a little flat. Also, more dissapointing is the taste. Its more like a cross between lager and bitter. Darker than lager but lighter than bitter. SWMBO (the lager drinker) doesn't like it, so I will have to drink it I suppose :!: Deffo going to use a true lager yeast for the next one. Someone on here says that Coopers European Lager comes with true lager yeast, can anyone confirm this?

I've heard the same as you dude but the last one I brewed tasted like a heavy lager should really, I've heard that the cheaper kits can taste bittery because of the yeast as well. I was gonna try lager yeast with this batch but I can't keep my place cold enough sadly...

but I can't keep my place cold enough sadly...[/quote]

I think we both need a brew fridge. I bought the heater and the temp controller already but cant find a fridge big enough on fleecycle. I will keep looking :!:

I'll be ok over winter, my house isn't central heated so it'll get pretty cold, probably 12 degrees inside by mid-November...

the euro lager and the coopers brewmaster pilsner both have lager yeasts

Just had a sneaky taste of the one I bottled on Friday, tastes very young obviously but full-bodied and well carbonated, even after 4 days! Held its head well too...

Should be awesome in 4 weeks :D
