Morning all,

I have recently brewed my first beer kit (Coopers Lager), I tried a couple of bottles last night and overall was very pleased, tasted great, was nice and clear, carbonated fine with lots of fizz but despite all this it had no head apart from when first poured but this just disappeared very quickly.

I used a proper head keeper glass (borrowed from my local establishment  ), I rinsed it properly as I understand any detergent in the glass will kill the head, and all the way through drinking it bubbles where shooting from the bottom of the glass and as mentioned it was fizzy.

It has been in the bottles for 20 days, would leaving it in the bottles help solve this problem or is there something I need to be doing earlier in the process to help get a nice head.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

How much sugar did you use to carbonate?

If it's too fizzy that'll effect the head retention. :thumb:

I used 500ml bottles and one carbonation drop per bottle.
