I thought I'd better post pictures up of my first brewday, considering how much help I got given on here!

It went well-ish, took about 5/6 hours in total, but i did thoroughly enjoy it :)

24 hours later, it went mad and bubbled over within the first 12 hours, then settled to this

Had a sneaky taste after 3 days, and it does taste like beer so thats good!

Looking forward to brewing my next, hopefully it will be a bit more succesful as i was only left with about 17 litres after the boil, but managed to top it up to 23 litres and get the OG spot on in the process. Lucky!

Am thinking about doing the BuzzBee bitter next, as we have honey bees so plenty of honey! Has anyone tried this? Also, what is a good selection of hops to order? Might aswell save on postage, but don't know what to get? Am thinking about getting bits for a Tanglefoot clone too..

Well done. I am a newbie as well just completed my first extract brew so you are miles ahead of me. I'm planning one more extract brew (to use up 9kg of extract which i have left) then going onto an AG stout i think.

If it looks like beer tastes like beer and smells like beer it probably is beer

great brewday  snail has just done his first ag which was a buzzbee bitter, i like to make up my own recipes to the style of beer i like, there are also some great recipes on the forum :thumb:

Will be bottling the BuzzBee on Sunday. Had a taste when I did a gravety reading monday. Tastes good :thumb:. Looks like you had a smooth brew day

Thanks for all of the positive comments. It was reassuring that the kit I made worked, though, there are a few things I have learned and will change for next time!

Really looking forward to drinking it now!

Well done, it looks great so let us know when the official tasting is carried out :drink:

As matter of interest where did you get the kit from?

Look forward to the official tasting the most! The kit was from Brew it Yourself

Was the free delivery oer 21.50 that made me go there to be honest.

Well done JG....

Are you barrelling or Bottling?

Brewed in the house .... Good Lad... smells lovely :D

Cheers bones. I will be using my plastic barrel for this one, although, I do plan on getting a corny at some point as I am fed up of getting pure froth off my beer when poring a pint!

They are! Will only be using it temporarily, as am getting hold of a metal one. I was given two boots buckets from a colleague, so though I would try making a boiler out of one!
