Settled into the fridge at a steady 20'

10 days on, it's down to 1016 but looks like a bucket of mud. Still got movement in there.

I'll leave it for another week yet then check it again

Bottled this even though it took a long time to clear. Golden colour as advertised and as close to a good pub pint as I've had from any kit.

i've just bottled my Muntons Gold Old English bitter kit, not sure if that's the same as the OP but i think its close.

its only 13 days old but i'm already drinking it, it tastes great to me though obviously flat. can't wait to see how the taste develops as it ages.

I thought this had all gone, but to my surprise this evening I found a few bottles that I'd stashed away. :D

It's had a few more weeks to bottle condition since my last taste, and is all the better for it. The sweetness and slight harshness is gone, leaving a full but well-rounded taste, with bags of flavour. Went to a local beer festival last weekend and this tastes better than 80% of the beers I tried. Will definately do it again, bottle it all and leave it locked away for at least 3 months.

And you can see how much gas it's generated in the photo  Very clear, and the yeast is staying put at the bottom of the bottles :)

This is a very old post but im thinking of getting this kit, looks good but not golden?
Would you brew this again and does it have a fruity enough taste without adding any dryhop as most kits dont?
Cheers

Well, I posted that 4 years ago so it's kinda hard to remember. I didn't make it again but I rarely make a brew more than once, I am tempted to give it a go again at some point because it did feel like a premium kit compared to things like Wherry - not knocking Wherry but the Midas Touch was much more like a pub ale.

Oh, and "gold" refers to the Muntons Gold range of beers not the colour of the brew, looks like this one has now been elevated to the Premium Gold range :)

"Muntons Premium Gold range are without doubt the best beer making kits on the market today." - quite a claim, but they are certainly very good kits.

The Golden Ale is from the Hand Crafted Range and the Golden refers to the color, hence, the Midas in the name.

Probably the color change may be from an older kit.

The beer comes well hopped. I don't see the point of adding extra hops.
