Anyone done these before? Can't see any reviews here....

SHMBO likes a light american style lager (meh!), something like Coors (meh!).

The Mr Beer American Light looks surprisingly like Coors labeling with the rockies on the label etc.

Anyone done one of these, any good?

My LHBS stocks these kits but don't know much about them.

Would suggest any Coopers Lager kit done with Tate and Lyle - that will give you a very light and quality product. Not the stuff of the Real Ale afficionados, but very close to what SWMBO is asking for. 500g of DME makes it really quite acceptable to most, BTW.

Mr Beer is a promise of outcomes without thought or effort, which are seldom delivered.

I have made two Mr Beer brews, the Diabolo IPA and Bewitched amber beer. I dry hopped the Bewitched with Cascade turned out really good and soon disappeared. The Diabolo was brewed straight with no additions, was decent but not as good and not really to my taste. I am a Coopers fan but would not buy Mr Beer kits again. For smaller brews BrewFerm every time, but a different style of beer.
